Carrières Unies de Porphyre (Eurovia Vinci Group) its new 4.674 kWp ground-mounted installation is now in service. The installation is located at the far end of CUP's extracting site in Lessines.
The whole installation covers an area of 7 ha. The South-facing 17.312 panels have an inclination of 25°. The whole of the electricity is consumed by CUP which will cover 35% of its yearly need, at a competitive price.
We are proud to say that this is the largest solar plant of its kind in Wallonia.
The project was financed by Green 4 Power, a joint venture between PerPetum and Integrale.
Before the end of 2018, the installation will be completed by an innovative storage system of 1.000 kWh. This storage system will first be used for services to the network such has frequency stabilisation. Later on, the storage system will optimise the synergy between the solar production and the customer consumption.
